ALP candidate selection grinds to a halt

Anna Bligh and Labor are treating voters as mugs by not telling near-20 per cent of Queensland who their local ALP candidates will be at the looming state poll. At least 16 of Queensland’s 89 electorates were yet to be advised of local ALP candidates. It’s likely we’re only weeks away from an election and yet 16 electorates don’t know who their local ALP candidates will be. It’s not good enough and it comes from the tired, 20-year Labor government treating Queensland voters as mugs.

Just roll-up on the day and vote for us, seems to be the Bligh government’s arrogant attitude.

It is not good enough, given the precarious state of the economy, the size of the state debt, the health payroll crisis, and the general crisis of leadership that’s afflicting Queensland.

Many long-serving Labor Members are jumping ship to collect their lucrative pensions, but for the rest of Queensland, the everyday battle to meet living costs continues.

While Bligh has racked-up state debt of $85 billion and given up on job-creation, only the LNP is offering a clear commitment to get Queensland back on track through sound and sensible fiscal policies, and a commitment to properly plan and deliver the frontline services that Queenslanders need and deserve.

The LNP will cut the cost of living for Queensland families by between $250 and $330 a year through electricity and water pricing reforms, and freezing family car registration.

We’ll also scrap Labor’s new $7000 stamp duty slug on the family home. It’s time for a change.

It’s time to get Queensland back on track.
