108,000 Queenslanders denied dental care

Federal Labor’s broken promise dooms 108,000 Queenslanders to longer dental waiting time.  Shadow Minister for Health Mark McArdle said Federal Health Minister Nicola Roxon has broken a key commitment Labor struck with the Greens to form government and backed away from a key promise to treat Queenslanders who need dental care the most. “Labor is failing far too many Queenslanders on far too many levels of public health,” said Mr McArdle.

“Not only has a secret government report revealed Queenslanders are dying before getting to see a doctor, now Queenslanders won’t be able to gain access to public dental health care either.

“Labor’s well practiced trend of broken promises clearly exists at both State and Federal levels.

“This decision to cut government investment in dental health will mean many Queenslanders now have an even longer wait for public health attention, which will only result in greater strain being placed on our already struggling Queensland Health system.

“Sadly, Queenslanders are getting all too used to Labor’s broken promises.

“Internal factional battles and forced backflips on bungled water reforms to save votes show Labor is obsessed with politics not with planning for Queensland’s future.

“Meanwhile, Campbell Newman is out listening to the concerns of regional Queenslanders.

“A Can Do led LNP team will forward plan, not live for the moment and we will be open and accountable,” Mr McArdle said.
