Lying Labor's budget 'honesty' bill a stunt

A Budget ‘Honesty’ Bill that hasn’t been debated for three years is nothing more than a political stunt from a tired, 20 year old Labor Government that has constantly betrayed Queenslanders’ trust. Deputy Opposition Leader Tim Nicholls said the Charter of Budget Honesty Bill was not important to Labor last election when they put forward a one page costing sheet, nor was it important enough to progress for over three years.      Read more...

Premier must clear up caretaker confusion

I call on the Premier Anna Bligh to place the state government into caretaker mode immediately to cut confusion and deliver certainty on the use of taxpayer funds. Ms Bligh has sailed the state into uncharted waters by setting an election date, but refusing to place the government into caretaker mode for another three weeks.    Read more...

ALP candidate selection grinds to a halt

Anna Bligh and Labor are treating voters as mugs by not telling near-20 per cent of Queensland who their local ALP candidates will be at the looming state poll. At least 16 of Queensland’s 89 electorates were yet to be advised of local ALP candidates. It’s likely we’re only weeks away from an election and yet 16 electorates don’t know who their local ALP candidates will be. Bligh busted fibbing about Qld Health fix

Labor has once again been caught out lying to Queenslanders. Shadow Treasurer Tim Nicholls said Labor’s proposed Queensland Health split has been exposed as a recycled idea sprinkled with more Bligh government spin and not a genuine fix responding to the $16 million fraud. “You can't fix the problem culture if the whole fix is premised on a lie and a con" said Mr Nicholls.     Read more...
